About us

The Perfetti Lab, led by Dr. Charles Perfetti, is dedicated to understanding the cognitive and neural processes that mediate all aspects of language comprehension and production, including first and second language speaking, reading, and writing. Our research facilities are located in the University of Pittsburgh's Learning Research and Development Center, and include a suite of behavioral research labs and an ERP lab. The Perfetti Lab is a member of the LRDC’s Reading and Language Group.

Dr. Perfetti was awarded the Distinguished Scholar award by the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Special Interest Group (SIG): Research in Reading and Literacy for his outstanding contributions to research in reading and literacy.
