Yesenia is a Ph.D. student in the Cognitive Psychology program at the University of Pittsburgh. She earned a master's degree in child development from the Universidad de La Sabana in Colombia. She completed her internship by designing workshops focused on early literacy and socio-emotional skills for kindergarteners, and then she worked for three years as a research assistant in numerical cognition. Her research interests involve individual differences in early numeracy and home practices that promote math and socio-emotional skills. She enjoys doing yoga, meditation, and cooking arepas for her friends.
