In Mathematics Learning and Instruction, researchers investigate the influence of factors such as teacher practice, education reform, and racial/ethnic disparities on how people teach and learn mathematics. Specific areas of study include teacher learning in the mathematics classroom (see Stein) and reducing racial and ethnic disparities in STEM fields (see Iriti); increasing math talk in adult-child interactions through grocery store signage (see Libertus), and the relationship between home math activities and children's corresponding math skills (see Libertus).
