Minoritized Groups

In Minoritized Groups research, scientists engage with minoritized groups to determine the influences of racial and ethnic disparities on learning and academic development. Specific areas of study include the influence of socioeconomic status (SES) on children's development (see Votruba-Drzal), understanding the processes linking race/ethnicity and SES to academic achievement (see Henry and Binning), see also Early Childhood Influences on Learning in African American Children (see Henry), and reducing systemic barriers for minoritized students to succeed in postsecondary education (see Iriti).

Additional topics include how early life stress impacts neurodevelopment (see Hanson), the social and ecological processes that influence knowledge transfer (see Nokes-Malach), and the use of computer technologies to create more equitable educational spaces (see Stewart and Walker), see also Engaging Girls as Co-Creators of Social Robots (see Stewart and Walker).
