Developmental Neuroscience

In Developmental Neuroscience work, researchers explore how children and adolescents learn about their environment and the cognitive processes behind the brain's early development. Specific areas of study include the development of quantitative understanding (see Libertus), see also Parent-child Interaction is Important for Effective Early Math Intervention, how early life stress may convey risk for depression (see Hanson), and how brain circuitry involved with learning may be impacted by early life stress (see Hanson).
