Design Competition 2011 |
High school students demonstrate their creative potential when they learn how to think both like engineers and scientists. During the past year, hundreds of high school science students designed creative solutions in their science classes to difficult technical challenges the way that engineers tackle such problems. The best of these students from each science class will demonstrate their designs in a City of Pittsburgh - wide design competition. This design competition is the culmination of a summer Research Experience for teachers grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) in conjunction with support from the Motorola Foundation and the Alcoa Foundation to Carnegie Mellon University, the Swanson School of Engineering and the Learning Research and Development Center at the University of Pittsburgh. |
